Preston Armed Forces Day

GWS YORK & LANCASTER REGIMENT will be attending in support of the Lancashire Infantry Museum at the Preston Armed Forces Day event in the Flag Market

Tank Museum, Bovington

June 24th / 25th - the GWS' annual participation in the world-renowned 'Tankfest' event!! Our 1917 tank crew will be working with the museum's running replica Mk. IV tank ('the Warhorse Tank'). Nowhere else in the world are you able to see a 100% historically accurate and authentic Great War British tank crew, than at this event!!

RFC Stow Maries, Essex

July 22nd / 23rd - fly-in event at Stow Maries, attended as usual by the GWS' Royal Flying Corps section. We will be in residence in the airfield Ready Room building, as well as providing twice-daily presentations on RFC flying kit, in co-operation with the RAF Museum.

Wrexham, North Wales

Sunday July 30th - one-day national event at the annual 'History Alive' Living-History Festival. Full GWS attendance with British and German infantry displays, plus the 24th General Hospital.

Didcot, Oxfordshire

August 19th / 20th - national event at the Didcot Railway Centre. Full attendance with British infantry camp, plus British hospital train display by our 24th General Hospital staff.

Lancashire Infantry Museum

Heritage Open Day at the splendid Lancashire Infantry Museum, located within historic Fulwood Barracks, Preston. GWS YORK & LANCASTER Tommies will be in attendance, as usual, with displays to offer an insight into the everyday life of the Great War British infantryman. GWS 24th GENERAL HOSPITAL will also be in attendance with a Great War medical display.
